The 2023 Legal League Spring Servicer Summit was a remarkable gathering that took place on May 1-2 at the Westin Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa in Frisco, Texas. Professionals from mortgage servicers, lenders, federal government agencies, financial services law firms, service providers, investors, and real estate organizations convened for this highly anticipated event.

The Summit commenced with a warm welcome from Stephen Hladik, Chair of the Legal League Advisory Council, who provided an overview of the day’s proceedings and set the tone for the event.

Esteemed speakers, including Ryan Bourgeois from BDF Law Group;, Michael Merritt from BOK Financial;, Melissa Black from PennyMac Loan Services, LLC;, Mark Atencio from Lyons McCloskey;, and Tony Van Ness from Van Ness Law Firm, PLC, explored the current and future issues in law firm compliance. They delved into topics such as on-site audits, IT, information security concerns, and the management of third-party vendors, shedding light on the challenges and best practices in ensuring compliance. 

Another captivating session, titled “A Kaleidoscope of Foreclosure Perspectives,” provided valuable insights into the foreclosure landscape. The discussion featured experienced professionals who shared their perspectives on crucial aspects such as HAF funds, loss mitigation, foreclosure delays, and the significance of e-notes/e-mortgages in today’s industry. To conclude the Summit on a high note, attendees were invited to the Texas Rangers Game Mixer, held at the VIP Suite in Globe Life Field. This special networking event allowed professionals to enjoy an evening of camaraderie, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and a perfect balcony view of the game between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
